69th PGA Championship
The 1987 PGA Championship, played at the home of The PGA of America on the difficult Champion Course at PGA National Golf Club, produced the highest winning score in PGA Championship history. A final-round of even-par 72 brought 1981 PGA Champion Larry Nelson from three strokes off the pace to tie another former champion, Lanny Wadkins, at 287. Nelson won with a par 4 on the first extra hole (No. 10) to become the 15th multiple winner of the PGA Championship.
